Meet the Speakers:
Pastor Ed Taylor grew up in Southern California. Having responded to the gospel in 1991 at Calvary Chapel Downey, he spent eight years learning, growing, and serving there. In July of 1999, sensing the call of God, Ed and his family moved to the Denver area hoping to be used by God. In December 1999, Calvary Aurora began Sunday services and today impacts the community for Jesus in wonderful ways.
Pastor Ed's heart is to be transparent from the pulpit for he truly desires that everyone, from all walks of life, will embrace Jesus and grow in His grace. Ed and his wife, Marie, have been married for over 27 years and have three children – of which their oldest son, Eddie, went to be with the Lord in 2013. Ed and Marie also have a precious grandson, Eddie’s son, Levi.
As a kid, he was exposed to a life of chaos and was intrigued with the street life in the city of Artesia (South East LA County). This ultimately led to a prison sentence of about six years. It was during this time that his wife, Diana, began praying for him and soon after his release he surrendered his life to Christ. Tommy was so excited about this new life in Christ he enrolled in Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa’s School of Ministry. In 2004 he was brought on staff at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa where he served as the pastor of the Hands of Hope Ministry. In February of 2014 he was encouraged by Pastor Brian Brodersen, took a step of faith and planted Hope Alive Church in Santa Ana. Tommy's heart is to reach the people of Santa Ana with the message of hope that is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He has been married to his wife Diana since 1990 and have three children, Tommy Jr., Isabella, and Jacquelyn.
Pastor Chris Swansen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters of Science in International Development for Appropriate Technology in 1991 and Calvary Chapel Bible College in California with a Bachelor of Bible Science. In 1992, he traveled with his wife, Laurie, to Russia to serve as a missionary and became pastor of the second Calvary Chapel in Moscow.Following their stay in Russia, Pastor Chris and Laurie returned to the US where he served on the staff of a Calvary Chapel in North Carolina for one year. At that time he felt God calling him back to the Philadelphia area to start a Bible-teaching church. Pastor Chris has served as pastor of Calvary Chapel Chester Springs since 1996. He lives with his wife and ten children in Downingtown.
